GIL (Path)
‘GIL’ translates to ‘path’ in my native Korean.
And a global interpreter lock (GIL) is a mechanism used in computer-language interpreters, which is descriptive of my sculpting process
As an interpreter that uses GIL always allows exactly one thread to execute at a time, even if run on a multi-core processor, I execute one weaving or one digging at a time even though there have to be multiple threads of wire or multiple diggings at several directions during working in one sculpture.
Chaos and order coexist within this tangled, infinite Möbius strip form.
Discovering and revealing a new passage through digging the negative space in a given stone, the very negative space becomes a pathway. And removing superfluity, only necessity remains.
